My family and I all tend to buy our own items and stuff for all of us when we grocery shop, so we have our go-to foods we’ll get, most often.

I’ve known a few good men, but the one who’s had the most positive impact on me probably is one I’ve never met.
C. S. Lewis’ books and essays have taught me a lot about how to think, reason, and order my own writing. I don’t think I’ve written a single thing (outside of fantasy) that didn’t quote him, and I know all my writing echoes his ideas even when I’m not quoting them directly.
He said the same thing about George MacDonald, so I’m sure he’d understand how I feel about it.
I’m not obsessed with him in a weird way, or anything, I just find his writing very helpful for explaining tough concepts in an easy way, and I know that’s how I got good at doing that, by copying him.
Anyone else have that experience as a writer?

Yes and no, I guess.
I don’t usually have a very clear picture of the future.
A year ago I thought I’d still be tutoring maybe, instead of what I’m doing now. I didn’t picture making a higher salary.
I also didn’t picture my circle of friends doubling since last year.
Or that I would be volunteer interpreting for a few months now.
But other things, I pictured as the same. Still living with my famliy, still driving the same car, going ot the same church. Reading and writing the same kinds of books.
That’s not really bad though. While there are still things I want in life that I don’t have, I have come to realize that I’m very, very fortunate in my life. I’m sure a lot of people would trade places with me to have what I have, a good family, good friends, and not lacking anything I need.
We all want more, and it’s good to have goals. We need to work for something to feel like we have a purpose.
But I’ve also realized that one day, I may wish I could have some of this time back, so I should enjoy it while it lasts.
How many of our plans ever work out the way we think they will, even when we get what we want? Life is too complex for us to predict, and that’s for the best, I believe.

One skill I’ve acquired since I started my latest job is how to organize better. Also how to keep logs and records. A lot of little tricks to make it easier on myself to remember. I take a lot of notes now, use special markers, and file things by name and category. I never sued to do any of this a lot.
And it’s catching. I started organizing things at my house more, and de-cluttering, and doing more chores. Now that Im’ used to being active, I tend to be more active even on my days off.
I guess this is adulthood setting in finally, but I really don’t mind it. I like feeling like I accomplish more than before. Also makes life easier for my mom and sisters.
I was not a neat person before this, so, I would call this both a skill and a lesson that I’ve learned recently, but I hope it sticks.

Paris. Hey it’s not just the romance aspect. It has a bunch of art I want to see in person.
Also Rome, though that may not exactly be a city. I’d like to visit Venice and Florence. Just do a Europe tour, really.
Also I’d like to visit New York and Boston, closer to home.
I hope people say a lot of things about me.
I think the most important are that I was/am loving, and have integrity, and strong faith.
Is there one word for all three of those things?
Maybe just that I “lived well.”
