Dang… I’m not sure but I think they were doing mission trips, and starting up a small business. My dad also might have been in a cult at the time…
Weird mix of things. They weren’t even married yet when my Dad was my age, I think, not sure they’d even met.
And here I am, not married, been on two mission trips, and trying to start up more of my own money generating ideas…
I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in some respects.
My parents never pushed me to be like them in my career or lifestyle, since both of them thought they made a lot of mistakes as young adults and figured I should just figure out what I wanted to do myself.
So I’ve been free to explore whatever options I want, within reason.
Even though we are Christians, they also didn’t force us to practice a lot of Christian traditions beyond holidays and Bible study. I’d say we were limited, but not in a lot of very huge ways.
I never felt like they controlled my life too much as a kid, though as a young adult,my father did try to control my actions more than he should have for my maturity level. But I put a stop to it,an though I was berated for it, I got my way in the end, as I usually do.
So yeah, I can’t complain too much, and it’s funny that I still ended up doing very similar things to them even though they never told me to. Something’s are inherited after all.
But blogging and doing videos are my own thing, they never did that kind of stuff, so I guess I am original in some ways– if doing what thousands of other people do is original.
Peace out
(See that’s not original either.)
Till next time– Natasha
