My challenge?

Daily writing prompt
What are your biggest challenges?

One of my personal biggest ones is being patient.

I like to get ahead, and I have trouble listening to other people sometimes, because I’m always anxious to get my next thought in.

Knowing when to wait on saying something is a challenge for me, and knowing when not to try to do something.

I’m working on it, though.

I would say the biggest ones are my sisters

Daily writing prompt
What relationships have a positive impact on you?

I would say my relationship with my siblings has had the biggest positive impact on me.

I know they have my back. Even when we sometimes bicker, we’ve always been there for each other, at least since we became adults

That didn’t just happen though, we had to work for it.

I used to pick on them a lot (I’m the oldest) and they’d scratch and bite me and say mean stuff.

At some point, mostly because of my faith in Jesus, I decided to change that and while it took several years to fully grow out to fit, we became really close.

We’ve had to be close since both our parents have had issues really being there for us emotionally.

Sometimes I kind of feel like the mom to them, and other times it seems like they’re supporting me.

I know that no relationship is perfect, even with siblings, but, I really think I probably couldn’t find many people who have a better bond with theirs than I do.

We’ve never had a lot of close friends so I think that’s why we’ve stuck together. Though we have friends now, it’s just not the same as someone you live with who can be there for you every day.

Sure, sometimes they still get on my nerves, but I’ve learned to let a lot of the small stuff go overtime because it doesn’t really matter that much. A life skill that I think will help me whenever I do have my own family.

Eh…yes and no?

How have your political views changed over time?

I’m not going to get into specifics, but, I do think that I’ve become more nuanced.

Also I’ve come to think that I have more faith in political principles than I do in actual politicians, but I think I’m not alone in that.

My views have not really changed since I was old enough to really understand politics, but I have deepened my understanding of them.

My perfect reading/writing space?

Daily writing prompt
You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?

Oh this is a fun one.

If I could have it all in one room…

I’ve always wanted one of those canopy beds, with curtains, I like to write in bed a lot and I think the privacy would help me stay focused. People coming in tends to distract me.’

Then I’d have a room big enough so I could have a comfy arm chair in the corner, with a lap desk by it, or else a desk attached to it at an angle, either or, so I could prop my laptop or notebook on it.

I’d have a big window with a view of nature, ocean, woods, or something like that, by the armchair.

And a side table for my coffee, tea, and snacks that was the right size to fit and not get knocked over easily.

The color scheme would be blue, or maybe warm gold colors, because I find that the most inspiring. Or both accents.

And I’d have a place to play music from and to charge my devices.

And blankets and pillows.

Also room for my cat.

A door with a lock on it might be nice too.

And good thick walls so it would be quiet.

I’d also have Thomas Kinkade or other nature artists painting on the walls. And maybe some photographs.

Oh and bookshelves, plural yes, for my books.

But hey, this is all if you had the perfect ideal space. I can still make do with what I have now. Still we can dream.

(I wonder if I’d actually like it if I had it or if I’d end up sitting in the living room anyway because I’d miss the bustle or the company of the household. Maybe I’d get used to the solitude and then become picky about it. Sometimes I think it’s better to know you have to adapt, so you don’t get too hung up on small changes. Food for thought.)

What about you?

I mean out of the 4 or 5 I’ve even used..?

Daily writing prompt
What is your all time favorite automobile?

Toyota.

I just got a Prius and so far this is my favorite car, though it is a little slow, but it has so many cool features.

I’ve preferred Toyotas since my family used to own a blue Sienna minivan, and it lasted the longest of any of our cars that I can remember, and it was so roomy.

I’ve driven a Honda the past several years and while it’s a good car, and works well, I feel like they are smaller and less durable than the Toyota’s.

Of course a Prius is basically like the fancy car for poor people compared to some of the really big name brands, but I don’t really care. I’m not sure what the fuss behind Mercedes, Ferraris, and whatever else is up there really is. If the car runs, why pay exorbitant amounts of money for something that just has a few more bells and whistles you don’t even need?

I mean even a cheap car now has a Bluetooth link and rear cam and that’s about all I care about. That and a CD player because I’m an old woman in a young woman’s body.

So yeah, I’m a simple person. My favorite automobile is the one that gets me where I need to go, in the best way.

(Also that gets like 50 miles to the gallon because I have a long commute 5 days a week most weeks. Yay!)

See you all on the flipside–Natasha.
